LEARNER CHARACTERISTICS INVENTORY (LCI)
The MSAA (Multi-State Alternate Assessment) ELA Resources for Diverse Learners serve as a comprehensive guide for educators, particularly those teaching students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. Their core purpose is to empower teachers by enhancing their understanding of grade-level content standards in English Language Arts, especially regarding informational text. These materials emphasize a structured approach to teaching, focusing on key concepts like text structures, main ideas, and supporting details, all while integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure accessibility for all students. Ultimately, the resources aim to prepare all students for college, career, and community readiness by providing explicit instructional strategies and fostering essential comprehension skills.
